About Text to Speech Studio

A free, independent web application that turns text, documents and public webpage articles into downloadable speech.

What the tool does

Import text from PDFs, scanned PDFs (using OCR), Word documents, supported ebooks and public article pages. Review and edit the extracted text, select a language and voice, and export audio in MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC or OPUS.

Availability and limits

Free accounts have current limits of 2,000 characters per request and 6,000 per day. Voice and processing availability depend on external technology and server resources; availability is not guaranteed.

Independent service

Text to Speech Studio is independently operated. It is not affiliated with Microsoft. Speech synthesis uses a third-party Edge Read Aloud service; users should avoid submitting confidential or sensitive information.
